Children’s Day

India celebrates November 14th as Children’s Day to honor Jawaharlal Nehru, the country’s first Prime Minister, on his birth anniversary.

Affectionately known as “Chacha Nehru” by children, he strongly believed in the importance of children as the future of the nation and was a major advocate for their education and welfare.
